Little Nachman, Part 23

 

 

Right there in the playground, Aaron began praying with all his heart. He asked Hashem to help him. He asked Hashem to have mercy on him.

 

The next day in class was totally different. Nobody in class hit Aaron or made fun of him.

 

During recess, Aaron ran toward Nachman and Shimon. "You won’t believe it!" he exclaimed. "Not only did the other boys leave me alone, they actually were nice to me all morning long!"

 

Nachman was happy about the good news and added, "It’s not enough to pray to Hashem when we need something, Aaron. We must thank Him for all our blessings. So, even on a day when the other kids don’t pick on you, your thanks to Hashem should be just as strong as your prayers for help. We should all pray every day!"

 

Since Nachman didn’t tell a thing to anyone else that he didn’t do himself, he began to pray: "Hashem, protect us and all of the people of Israel. Help us treat others kindly, and have mercy on us so that others will be kind to us. Help us thank You for all of our blessings in life, and protect us all day long – on the way to school, in school, and on the way home from school."
